Shop the Casita

casita furnishings

If you read about our casita build, you know this space is hard working and multipurpose. That calls for hard-working, multipurpose furnishings! I walked a fine line between wanting durable products and wanting inexpensive products. (I don’t want my kids to destroy the furniture, but if (or when?) they do, I don’t want to freak out over the price of what is ruined!) It was a tricky ask, because generally speaking, you get what you pay for in terms of durability.

This casita also serves as our pool house, and so I chose indoor/outdoor products wherever I could, figuring they would stand up to the wet and sunscreen-slathered kids (and dog) that pretty get much have free reign in here. In the end, I mixed some budget-friendly pieces with a splurge (the sofa) and some non-precious antiques that were ready to move out of the main house. We’re happy with the mix! It’s been about six months, and so far everything is holding up to my brood!

This IKEA drop-leaf table is perfect for a solo cup of coffee or can be expanded to hold a crowd. The colorful rug from Wayfair hides spills, but doesn’t really need to as the indoor/outdoor weave can be taken out and sprayed down with a hose.
I love art with a solid, feel-good message, like these World Market signs. (Cafe chairs no longer available.)
We fell hard for the teak outdoor sofa and end table from Gloster, which we were happy to get on sale from Austin’s Outdoor InStyle. It sits next to the versatile and budget-friendly IKEA Kallax shelf (which has been in nearly every room in my home before coming outside to play!) and gray wool rug from Overstock.
These Container Store storage ottomans are a steal! I’ve paired 2 here for a coffee table, but they can also be moved around for stools, footrests, or storage wherever they’re needed. (Different colors available.)
This IKEA arm chair is lightweight enough to move around the room, or even take outside. Although not an outdoor chair, it seems to be swimsuit friendly thanks to the mesh body style.
